THE GRAND SOCIAL

No, we are not talking about any social networking extravaganza... This is just your new shopping HotSpot.

The Grand Social was created about 2 years ago and is a great example of Love for Fashion & Internet Power: the site was created in order to put Australian and New Zealander designers/labels on the biggest marketplace ever created, the WWW.
If you've never heard about THE CASSETTE SOCIETY, Secret Squirrel or Lulu in Chains... This is the place to go and discover.
But be prepared, you might get struck by shopping lightning as soon as you start browsing through the different designs.
And there's no safety net, no matter if sunglasses, jewelry, shoes or clothes... The stuff is just amazingly Bumblegummylicious and you'll want a little piece of everything!
Shopaholics beware... You're in for a (small) credit card scare!

We forgot to mention, above all, very often items sold on the site will never make it into the stores (samples etc...). Why? Because when you buy from TGS, you buy directly from the label!
WooHoo!

THE VOICE: WVUM 90.5FM

One day, through word of mouth, BBGG had heard about this amazing, eclectic, smart and underground radio that played only songs they Loved: needless to say that the Gang became addicted.
From Ed Banger, to La Roux, Sneaky Sound System or the Yeah Yeah Yeahs we had it all!
A blessing to our commercially overloaded sound waves: The Voice had spoken.

For the quick story: a couple of months later we happened to stumble upon Jonathan Kornman, who just happened to be the Music Director of our new radio jewel. Imagine that.
We quickly appreciated him sugarcoating our Frenchness:  "I believe Kitsune incarnate the future of music: the ability to make fashion, art, and music become One is absolutely amazing. I hope to meet them on my next trip to Paris this summer."

Bottom line is: if you're an underground freak tune in on 90.5 FM, otherwise listen to the Live stream online.

Oh, and FYI> tracks played on The Voice are not on ANY other Miami radio: IT IS THEIR GOLDEN UNDERGROUND RULE.

Enjoy.

CHIDDY CHIDDY BANG BANG

Lately we've been shying away from our usual sophisticated soirees and moving more towards the hipster, local cool nites. If you're in the same mood we're in, def check out CHIDDY BANG,  a fresh indie/hip-hop (with a fresh electro touch) duo from Philly made of emcee Chiddy and  DJ/Producer Xaphoon Jones. They've grown quite a following in the underground scene all the way to Europe, and are known as a "hipsters' wet dream."
Their first mixtape The Swelly Express dropped last October and we're loving it!
Check out Opposite of Adults, Truth, Sooner or Later and their remix of MGTM's Kids. Their videos are just as fresh.

JUICY KITTY

Our little KITTY is all grown up now: Say hello to HELLO KITTY WINES she's now older and juicier!

On top of adorning everything we own from blenders, mouse pads, kleenex and undies...(don't hate, ya'll know you wish you had everything KITTY-ed out) we can now get krunk with KITTY.

HELLO KITTY is well on her way to World domination...or at least B.B.G.G World

Sneaky-iky-iky!!!!

Drawing their inspiration from Hot Chip and Cut Copy there's no doubt Sneaky Sound System is as legit as they are. If you enjoy electro-dance music that'll make you sing along with a huge grin on your face while you're poppin' n lockin' it: add Sneaky Sound System to your pandora station list -  trust us, you won't regret it

The Aussie band is based in Sydney and performed in our beloved MIA back in June 2009. There's even some talks that they may be collaborating with Kanye West, but in the meantime for your auditory pleasures check out their tacks: I want Everything; I just dont want to be loved; I love it and It's over (pretty much sums up our B.B.G.G life-scapades)

Thank us later.

Jean-Michel Basquiat: The Radiant Child

For all our art appreciators, Tamra Davis a close friend of Basquiat, made a documentary paying homage to the celebrated painter. The Radiant Child gives a fascinating insider look at the artist and the man. With never-before-seen footages of Basquiat filmed in two years before his death, in his own words we  get a chance to understand the inner-workings of this successful, glorified young black artist who faced many challenges in his time.

Also an interesting tidbit, Jean-Michel Basquiat is of Haitian descent, his father Gerard Basquiat was born in Port-au-Prince....We knew he had to be one of us ;-)

Be sure to check out The Radiant Child to discover more about this iconoclast who ran in a tight circle with Mr. Warhol.

Smokin' ASHISH

Have we gotten your attention yet?
Let's be frank here, ASHISH is a necessity in some people's lives, if it's not already in yours, let us introduce you to ASHISH: it'll elevate your senses and bring you to a new world...fashion world that is ;-)

Though the colors and combinations can get a little carnaval-ish and very "recreational," the singular pieces like the pink zebra tights, sequinned tops, spiked jackets and to-die-for heels, are just maravillosa.
We know our true fashionistas will relish in some ASHISH...for your wardrobe.

And let's face it, a lot of you already love it cause the name speaks wonders to you!

WE'RE BACK...

After a month long absence, B&G are back.

On January 12th 2010, the 7.3 magnitude earthquake that hit Port-au-Prince Haiti, hit us personally.
As it happens, PaP is the place where we met and spent the most memorable moments of our childhood... The magical place where it all started.
So, as you all can imagine we've been putting our time, efforts, energy and hearts into Helping Haiti.
From gathering basic necessities and medical supplies for Sow-A-Seed, to flying out doctors and nurses through Project Medishare, we've been trying to do the best we can.

Please remember that rebuilding Haiti will be a long process and that this is a time where the World, our generation, has to come together and show what we can achieve in unity.
Keep the donations coming.
