Jeremy Scott for Adidas Originals @ ADDICT

During Art Basel we happened to fly by one of our favorite sneaker spots in the city: ADDICT.

Strategically located in uber-luxurious, open air Bal Harbour Shops; the boutique was showcasing Jeremy Scott's for Adidas Originals F/W 09 line.

We obviously switched on our "meet & greet" mode to welcome the designs and... the Createur.

While everyone was chatting their way around, DJ Keidy was spinning some tunes, Kanu was immortalizing the moment "zoom-flash-click"-ing throughout the event and we were discussing our origins & next moves for the night/week... with the designer (of course).

This "oo-Wow-la-la" collection is a translation of a BumBle Gummy mindset: Africa meets multicolor television patterns. You don't get it? Us neither, but we've fallen head over heels for the styles and his Schiaparelli-ish attitude.

Icy Scandinavian Secrets: Mismo & Tres Bien Shop

Denmark has been statistically called the "happiest country in the world". Probably because they had Hans Christian Andersen to lull their childhood, Lars Ulrich to rock their teens and Ann Hagen to pimp their closet.

They also happen to have kept the "Mismo secret" from our americanized men. And no, we weren't showing off our spanish, Esses.

Mismo won the Danish Fashion Award in 2009 for "Best Accessory Designer", no wonder.

Although physically based in Malmo (Sweden) it is through their online boutique that they've been making quite some impressions lately.

Their list of progressive designers is heart warming and the international fashion gurus you will stumble upon are often synonymous of contemporary art, deconstruction & minimalism. Simple luxury with mention Tres bien.

The 80's: Past, Present, Future

La Roux

For those who haven't picked up the hype since "Quicksand" was released by independent French record label Kitsune in 2007, here's the breath of fresh air we've all been waiting for.

Eleanor "Elly" Jackson's killer voice along with Ben Langmaid's enchanting synth, create the perfect 80's London New Wave band.

The influences are obvious, David Bowie, Depeche Mode, Prince, Madonna, The Knife, Heaven 17 are certainly only a few.

La Roux's eponymous debut album was released by Polydor UK and she's under Cherrytree in the US.

We are thrilled to see this 21-year-old Rousse fighting for her individuality and character, don't even bother, she's Bulletproof and In for the Kill.

This simply is some wicked electro/rock/pop/BAM!/music mate!

The Cool Kids

Everything starts in 2005, when MySpace was blooming and working its magic: Antoine "Mikey Rocks" Reed stumbles upon one of Evan "Chuck English" Ingersoll's beats.

A duo is born.

Their alternative Hip Hop sounds have an addictive tune and a BumBleGum'Yo flow.

These once "underground sensations", have been bringing us back to some Old School Feeling giving us their dope XXIst Century twist, they've been collaborating, touring and/or opening for artists such as Lil' Wayne, A-Trak, Diplo and M.I.A..Their tracks have been featured in video games (NBA Live 2008, "88"), soft drink commercials (Mountain Dew, "Delivery Man"), as well as Tv series (Entourage, "I'm Mikey").

Non-other than Don Cannon will produce their 2010 upcoming debut album "When Fish Ride Bicycles".

Although some might think that their success has been slow although progressive, We, BumBle & Gum, enjoy the fact that we can still cherish every single second ticking away from mass stardom.

Purrr-fection

With a name like Arrogant Cat, the title alone clearly speaks our BumBle Gummylicious lingo. Exclusively sold in the UK, Kuwait and Hong Kong, the latter is where we made this golden discovery at the prestigious IFC Mall. To say that we fell in love is an under statement - the outfits are loud, sophisticated and definitely leave the lasting impression we, BumBle Gummers, aim for when we step out of the crib.
